The data HIF collects is used to help better serve our members. It is our policy to collect and store only personally identifiable information that our members and visitors knowingly and voluntarily provide.
Information From General Users. HIF does not collect any personally identifiable information from users browsing its Site. HIF may choose to collect aggregate information, which includes but is not limited to: the total number of visitors to our Site, the number of visitors to each page of our Site and IP addresses. The aggregate information extracted from this data will be maintained, used and disclosed in aggregate form only and will not contain personally identifiable information. HIF may use such aggregate information for internal, marketing and strategic planning purposes.
Information From HIF Members, Conference Registrants, and Other Customers. To gain access to members-only resources and personalization features on our Site, members and other users are asked to register and provide some limited personally identifiable information. This information is submitted knowingly and voluntarily by the user. HIF asks users to provide their name, member number (for members), organization name, business phone, and e-mail address. Similar information may be submitted to HIF through membership applications, conference or seminar registration.
HIF may use information knowingly and voluntarily submitted by members, conference registrants and other customers in the following ways:
Member Services and Products. HIF may use data collected to improve its own web content; to respond to visitors’ interests, needs and preferences; and to develop new products and services.
Disclosures to Third Parties. HIF also makes member contact information available through the Membership Directory to other members using this Site and to those who register for its conferences. In addition, HIF incorporates user-provided information into copies of the Membership Directory that it provides to members and corporate partners. HIF may also disclose information you provide to us to complete a transaction that you request. We may also outsource some tasks, including but not limited to, the operation of some of our Site functions that require access to information you supply online. Disclosures Required by Law. HIF may disclose personal information when required by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary in order to comply with the law or the legal process.
Credit Card Account Information. Credit information that you and credit authorizers provide for your purchase of products or other services will only be used to process the transactions you request. Editing or Deleting Your Account Information
We provide you with the ability to edit your user account information that you provided to us when registering your membership with HIF. You may request deletion of your user account by contacting us. Content or other data that you may have provided to us and that is not contained within your user account, such as posts that may appear within our forums, may continue to remain on our Site at our discretion even though your user account is deleted.
